Calgary AA Ringette endorses the Friends First program. Each team, each age division—plus coaches, managers and parents—are reminded that strong leadership combines both competition and sportsmanship. Supporting each other, and our sister teams, promotes friendships on and off the ice and elevates our game.
Here are some highlights for this season:
Building Friendships Off-Season, in Ottawa!
On June 2-4, Calgary U14AA athletes from last season’s Team White, Red and Blue came together through Western Ringette for a spring tourney in Ottawa. Having a few practices together under their belt, they played as a team during the Capital Ringette Classic, and battled to claim Gold. It was a great opportunity to stretch their ringette skills and celebrate friendships beyond the season, for athletes and parents alike. Beautiful downtown Ottawa afforded amazing free-time fun—plus running into Mayor Nenshi on an evening snack run sealed the experience!

All for One! U14AA White and Red Together after Wood Gold Final
Thank you to all U14, U16, U19—and NRL Calgary RATH and Edmonton WAM!—teams and volunteers (especially Matt Loh, organizer) for a fun Ice Breaker Challenge weekend at Great Plains Arena (Calgary). Competition and friendship went hand-in-hand, as athletes got to know their new teams, while greeting friends on other teams.
